I have the question about processing specific files by using Cursor.
To be more specific – I have files with .xlxs and .csv extentions. I want to make a request to Cursor to write for me some code, to extract insights from files, to discover tendencies etc. etc.
So far I have no experience how to do it.
So, could you please provide me with clear advices (step-by-step if it is possible) how to work with such files appropriately to achieve goals I have mentioned above?

One way I would approach this problem is to open the chat window (CMD /CRTL +L) and discuss with the chat that opens the general idea of how this would be achieved, what you want to do, you can give it screenshots of your files or example snippets (be careful of privacy of course), and once you have a kind of idea on how this could be achieved, you could go to the Composer tab and ask it to start implementing it → it will then be able to start creating and editing files for you and walk you through how to run them.
In general it is usually an iterative process, you discuss what you want with the AI, it makes changes, you test if it works and then give it feedback.
And useful to remember that sometimes the AI can go a bit crazy and get into a loop where it cannot resolve a problem. You can use the little “restore” buttons in the chat to go back to a working version and start a new conversation from there.
