Daily coder - I am frustrated with Cursor top 5 reasons

Describe the Bug

i use cursor every day. and its not the models that annoy me. its Cursor itself. and I have the fastest Desktop PC money can buy. and I have cursor ultra $200 plan.

I am a fan of cursor.. so please for the love of god… read these..

top1. command lines stuck all the time in agent mode, and I can’t see what it just ran, it always just shows the return prompt. and I can’t see what it was just doing.

top2. every 40 seconds the chat window freezes and I can’t type. something about state log filling inefficiencies, not even a problem with context.

top3. it randomly chooses powershell or read command to read files. and the grep always returns nothing. even when the AI knows its in that file, I know its in that file. grep says not found.. wtf. so the agent resorts to about 5 other attempts at getting the info out of the source code file.

top 4. when the queue adds an item (I would like to edit that queued item intead of deleting it - but thats not even the issue) when the queue PULLs the next item from the list. it DELETES!!! the current prompt I am typing for the next one, and if I am not watching the screen I am continue typing into the EITHER! for long 2 minutes. ■■■■■■■■ it. ctrl-z gets it back some of it. but what the hell.

top 5. copy and pasting from code lines I want to default to direct text paste (not reference lines) reference lines do not site correctly in the position of the prompt, like I ask it to do something with a piece of code… paste.. boom it goes to reference lines attached.. nooo thats not what I want. I just want to direct paste the text from the file. not a reference lines to that file. option in settings to turn off reference line PASTING. PLEASE!!!

For item 1, I recently worked out that if you click within the completed command line box (where it shows the return prompt), it will expand and you can then scroll the command line up as far as you want, viewing the entire output. Note that just mouseover and scroll simply scrolls the chat area, not the command line box.

I hope that helps somewhat.

ok. so your solution is to scroll it yourself? I am pretty sure if you asked users to scroll chat gpt themselves they would never come back to the product. is that what you are aiming for here?

also your video is short and taken out of context.. go back a few minutes leading up to you scrolling and you will see why your solution is unsustainable.

Sorry about this. We just fixed bug #4 with queueing. Working on freezing now, we want a reliable way to reproduce the problem

thank you Andrew, you’re the best.

I’m just trying to help. There’s no need for the attitude.

freezing i cant reproduce either, its getting better, i just know its still hitting me sometimes, its definately a local system freeze, like a database or hard drive freeze feeling. i use cursor across 3 pc and 2 laptops. it happens on all of them, some worse. so i really dont know what to say.

People have already written 1000 times before why freezes occur. I can only say that moving the .config/Cursor/User folder completely prevents freezes

Thanks, I was noticing this too.
