Deepseek unusable since yesterday

Describe the Bug

Since yesterday, all Deepseek models have been giving the error message “We’re having trouble connecting to the model provider. This might be temporary - please try again in a moment.”.

I tested other models and they’re all working normally with the exception of Claude 3 Opus and Kimi K2 which also gives this error.

This is in any mode - Agent (which i dont use with Deepseek but tested it anyways), Ask, and Manual.

I like to use Deepseek for certain things and this has made Cursor unusable for me.

Steps to Reproduce

Every time I ask Deepseek (R1, 3.1, or 3), Claude 3, or Kimi K2 something it immediately gives an error that it can’t be reached. It doesn’t matter if I start a new chat or not.

For testing purposes I tried Deepseek R1 in Agent mode and it responsed succesfully for the first message and then subsequent messages returned the same error.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

Hi @MarielaG, could you share a request id where this is happening so we can take a closer look?

Sure, it’s 7eb3341b-225e-40bb-a5a9-da16ec9153cd

All i did was a simple “test” message with no included files.

Thanks, we’re looking into it.

Hi @MarielaG, this should be resolved. Could you try again?

Yep it works now, thanks!
