Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey there!

The Default Mode setting was removed in 2.5. From the changelog:

  • Removed Default Mode setting so each new agent conversation begins fresh.

The mode defaults to Agent for each new chat, but can be changed in the Composer.

Removed Default Mode setting so each new agent conversation begins fresh

Why? Was there any related performance issue or bugs? If not, why remove it? I know shift + Tab conveniently change mode to Plan, but I always assumed that it would be in Plan Mode and forget to change mode sometimes.

but can be changed in the Composer

Do you mean that I can change this only with Composer model? or Is there some UI called Composer that I am not aware of?

Now that the model can intelligently suggest switching modes mid-conversation (e.g., offering to switch to Plan mode when it makes sense), a static global default was less useful than it used to be. You can still switch modes per-chat, it’s just no longer a sticky global default.

The Agent Chat area is often referred to as Composer (where you “compose” messages to the agents). This applies to all models.

Ah okay thanks for the info
