Direct "Send to Cursor" Capture from AI Chat Services

Feature request for product/service

Cursor IDE

Describe the request

Hi Cursor Team,

I frequently use AI services such as Gemini, ChatGPT, Grok, Claude, and Perplexity as thinking partners to develop philosophical, mathematical, and conceptual ideas.

My current workflow requires constant switching between browser-based AI chats and Cursor to document moments of insight into Markdown files. The manual process of copying, switching windows, creating files, and pasting interrupts cognitive flow.

I would like to propose a feature such as:

A “Send to Cursor” button within major AI chat interfaces
Or
A browser extension or universal “Send to Cursor” capture tool that allows users to instantly save selected AI responses (or full conversations) directly into a designated folder within their Cursor workspace as Markdown files.

Why this matters:

For users who use AI as a thinking partner, the seamless bridge between conversation and documentation is crucial. Cursor could evolve from being primarily a code editor into a powerful “Archive of Thought.”

As AI becomes a primary interface for thinking and research, the boundary between conversation and structured knowledge should disappear. Cursor is uniquely positioned to bridge that gap.

In addition, since philosophical and conceptual thinking evolves over time, it would be valuable if saved conversations could optionally be marked as “in-progress” or “iterative,” allowing users to refine and update their ideas without interrupting cognitive flow.

Ideas are not static outputs; they are evolving structures. A seamless bridge between conversation and documentation should support ongoing refinement, not just capture.

Such a feature would not only reduce friction, but preserve the integrity of thinking in its formative stage.

Thank you for building such an inspiring tool.

Best regards,
Jane Choi (최재인)
