I´m a newbie and have used Cursor for about a week. Suddenly the program shuts down and now I don’t know how or where to start it up again?

If I understood correctly, you just can’t find the Cursor app anymore after it closed.
If you’re on macOS, press Cmd + Space and search for “Cursor” with Spotlight.
If you’re on Windows, press the Windows key and search for “Cursor” in the Start Menu.
Hey, adding to @helldark’s answer: If the app icon isn’t showing up anywhere, Cursor may have been removed. You can just download and reinstall it from Cursor · Download. Your account, chats, and settings stay tied to your login.
A couple things that’ll help us figure out what happened:
- What OS are you on Windows, macOS, or Linux?
- When Cursor “closed”, did you see any error message, or did the window just disappear?
- Is the Cursor icon still in the Start menu or the Applications folder?
If you’re on Windows and the app just vanished, there’s a known issue where the auto-updater sometimes accidentally deletes the app. Reinstalling from the website fixes it.
