Do we get double charged? : Repeating prompts because lost connect or cursor not applying changes?

I have a single 5-600 line file.

Today alone, I’ve had to repeat prompts 4 times due to lost connection mid way through applying changes, and 3 times due to cursor saying that it applied changes, but hadn’t as I didnt see ‘Accept Changes’ as an option.

Here is a screenshot:

Do we get double charged for this?

Yes, and it’s really annoying, it’s been happening for the last couple days, Claude long context chat keeps returning empty responses, and the backend doesn’t check for that and still increases the usage counter.

Surely we should get refunded for this wastage.

I get this is a new software (and yes when it works I love it), but getting charged $20 for ‘testing’ and providing feedback to help the dev’s ‘‘fix’’ this is a bit of a joke.

To some extent, I understand these issues, given that a significant proportion of the cursor code was actually built by cursor.

So far I’ve used "126 requests out of your 500 monthly fast requests quota. " in 2 days with a 95%+ fail rate (ie cursor breaking code, connection timeouts, not applying changes etc).

I’ve raised 4 tickets, 2 emails and had no responses from the ‘support’ team.

I hope this gets better… They’ve recently raised $60 million, they should start hiring QA engineers, making QA testing a priority and then hiring more devs to address bugs. Also there should be a better bug tracking system, as it’s a bit of a mess currently with many duplicated issues in the forum. And we don’t always know if the report has been noted.

hey Cursor, i think this is an issue for everyone. In some cases I have to beg for it to not return an empty complete and then 2-3-4 times later or when I start a new compose session will it then reply. I get that the guys above will get some sort of refund but I don’t know that it helps everyone. I hit my 500 and then jumped to 2K … I dont mind paying for some slippage but the last 2 days are pretty extreme. I would think you have a better way to look for null response than for us to keep track of it and then ask for a credit refund.

What’s the protocol? or rather what do you want the protocol to be alerting you to the frequency and qty of the issue so credits can be properly applied?

Many modern software companies have cut back or eliminated QA teams for “cost savings”. We are unwitting beta testers at this point. Only with this app, you get to pay for the privilege.

added a failsafe that should avoid using requests on empty responses while i debug further. please email us at hi@cursor.com if you wasted requests on this and I’m happy to refund you!
