Does bugbot.md override Cursor’s default/base prompt?

Hi,
I saw that it’s possible to provide a custom prompt via a bugbot.md file.

If I define my own prompt there, does it override Cursor’s default/base prompt, or is it merged/added on top of it?

I want to customize the behavior, but I don’t want to lose any important default instructions.

Your custom bugbot.md prompt is appended to Cursor’s default BugBot prompt, not replaced. All of BugBot’s core bug-detection guidelines, severity classifications, and output formatting remain intact!
