File tab is moved to beginning after applying code from chat

When applying code changes from Chat, the file tab is moved to the beginning of the list.

This is very annoying because:

  1. I organize my file tabs visually.
  2. I have a lot of tabs open, so I have to move it all the way back to where it was.

You can pin the tabs you need.

I don’t think that’s a viable solution:

  1. Pinning moves the tab all the way to the first part of the tabs group, which is exactly what I don’t want.
  2. Users should not have to pin a tab every time they have to apply some code suggestion from Chat.
  3. This is a bug. The tab should not move. Chat applies the code in-place, it should also edit the tab in-place.

Even pinned tabs are being moved (at least in my case). This is super annoying.
Is there a setting to prevent that?

Hey, I don’t see this issue in version 0.41. Please wait for the updates.

This still happens and it’s soooo annoying. Cursor is filled with dumb bugs that I don’t know how they take so long to fix.

How do you check the cursor version? I don’t see anything in the settings.

Hey, can you post a screen recording or screenshots of this happening in a new thread? This thread is pretty old and the issue has been fixed in more recent versions - would be good to see exactly what’s happening on your system to help track down if this is a different problem

Thanks for caring. The problem was solved with 0.46 :pray:

(what was happening before: every time I clicked on the apply button of the chat window, concerned file tab was moved all the way to the left)

I was able to update to 0.46.11
it’s finally fixed!

I’m using v0.47.5 and this is still happening whenever I apply changes from the chat / agent with the sidebar open.
