I was using the original agent view (with the chat on the right-hand side and the ability to resize it to be very wide) because it will show me the floating review buttons no matter what I’m looking at or what agent I’m talking to. This makes it easy to see that something is ready and easy to navigate.
Today I tried the new layouts again. They are getting better and I like the customizabilty.. and I would use this new view if I could still have the floating review buttons always display. That doesnt’ seem to exist anymore.. it’s now up in the breadcrumbs. When I disable breadcrumbs the floating review bar does not display all the time.
Moreover, I can no longer go back to the view I had before. I now have a chat window that looks a little different and has a maximum width and I can not get the floating review bar to display the way it used to.
Is there a way to get the floating review bar back so that it always displays when there’s something to review (like before)? I know it still exists, I was just using it earlier today until I experimented with the new views again (this makes me less likely to want to try new features…).
Am I now required to use the breadcrumb review buttons?
Hey, the floating review bar is still there. It’s documented, and it should show up at the bottom of the screen when there are changes to review.
A couple things to check:
What version of Cursor are you on? (Help > About)
What OS are you using?
Which layout do you currently have selected?
Also, try fully restarting Cursor. In the past, there were bugs where the layout state got “stuck” after switching layouts. If the floating review bar still doesn’t show up after a restart, let me know and I’ll pass it to the team.
Just to be clear: you don’t have to use the review buttons in the breadcrumbs. The floating bar should work whether breadcrumbs are enabled or not.
It must have been a bug where it was stuck. I tried many things including restarting it and disabling breadcrumbs, the floating review bar won’t display when I use any view that isn’t “Editor Classic”. I tried the “Editor” layout and custom layouts.
This worked, good find. Had to uncheck “Sync layouts across windows” before setting default layout to “Editor (classic)”. Then I closed all the open tabs/windows.
