Forgetting context on followup

I seem to have an issue that the chat doesn’t “remember” the previous message/response. So it doesn’t know the context on the second+ message. I have to force a response by letting it load the whole codebase, but that’s also hit and miss.

things I tried to solve this issue;

  1. multiple restarts of the app
  2. multiple restarts of the computer
  3. re-installing the app twice.

What model did you use? Did you reinstall Cursor using this guide?

it didn’t matter which model, all of them stopped remembering since today. It has gotten better, but not super consistent

I just did another complete re-install of cursor. Removed all the files in the appropriate locations and the context is still lost once i ask a followup question, same behaviour on all models. I’m just burning tokens on non-relevant responses.
