I just got a message in Cursor that the request i submitted was the last free one for GPT-5.
I’d like to thank the Cursor team for this insane promotion. It was indeed useful (and fruitful).

Yes, I agree with you. It was awesome! I hope the future will be better with AI. 
That happens sometimes, i don’t think it’s related to the end of free trial. Try open a new chat prompt and see if that is working.
This should have been finished for free yesterday, but it was delayed. Plus, they gave one extra for free. I don’t know why.
ok seems to be related to this chat using 100% of the context (I am guessing, new chats worked). My understanding was that cursor would summarize the chat and start a new one…there used to be a popup that would prompt be to click on ‘new chat’, that would do this.
I hit my usage limit as soon as I noticed the announcement today. I’m sort of scratching my head as to what the value is when I consume $20 worth of credits with just 7 Agent prompts, half of which were essentially “Continue” and seeing so much of this:

same, im on the ultra plan and it just started using the usage based pricing until it reached that limit too, they scammed me heavily

everyone should check its usage dashboard, im on the ultra plan and used only gpt-5 and it used all my api usage and even spent my entire usage based pricing limit

i never even got a message that the usage of my ultra plan gets used or something, even the cost overview thing underneath the chat is not there anymore

Reporting in as well, that it looks like my GPT-5 requests did count towards my monthly usage limits. I have only have made gpt-5 (during promotion) and Auto requests, yet I am seeing today.
Update: Fixed.

It was Free?! I started cursor a couple days ago and gpt 5 requests used up my free stuff, and my promo/trial chunk from subscribing to pro, so I had to start my pro sub early. 2 prompts and I’m already 3% into my pro subscription allowance. I didnt, as far as I could see, get any ‘free’ gpt-5 usage at all!
Compared to what I was using previously, this is much much more expensive..
Which is what I was gonna post about, but I came here and saw this thread.
But anyways, yea. I am finding cursor to be very expensive compared to what I used before. So I shall be using (rapidly, it seems) my pro subscription and cancelling until A) cursor gets better (its seemed pretty buggy, models failing to do things, constant issues connecting to backend serrvices etc..) and B) they think about the pricing model some more.
/edit/ oh, I see just above that gpt-5 usage during the promo period may have been counted when it shoudln’t.
That certainly appears to be what I was experiencing…
now I have switched to enabling my pro subscription after gpt-5 consumes my free + ‘trial’ pro period, should I expect to see some usage back?? .. that could change my percception of how much this thing gobbles up money to some degree I guess..!
