Describe the Bug
When referencing a file using the @ symbol, the full file path is not displayed.
Steps to Reproduce
Try to reference a file name that appears multiple times and the path to it is long
Expected Behavior
The complete path to the file should be shown when selecting it with @, especially when multiple files share the same name.
Operating System
MacOS
Current Cursor Version (Menu → About Cursor → Copy)
Latest version for beta
Does this stop you from using Cursor
Sometimes - I can sometimes use Cursor
No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, thanks for the report. This looks like a real UX issue, especially for projects with duplicate filenames across different directories.
To help us investigate, please share:
- A screenshot of the @ file reference dropdown (what you see now vs what you expect)
- Your exact Cursor version (Help > About Cursor > Copy)
Once I can confirm the behavior from the screenshot, I’ll escalate this to the team, as it would definitely help with file disambiguation.
