Gemini 2.5 Going Wild

I just asked Gemini 2.5 MAX to update 7 files - quite simple changes, the same thing in each file.

It ended up being 8 new lines in each file.

The response from Gemini 2.5 MAX in the Composer however was over 100,000 characters of back and forth (with itself) with Planning, Analysis, Replanning, as well as a Constraint Checklist & Confidence Score which I haven’t seen before.

Is this a Google change, Cursor issue or something else? It doesn’t seem efficient whatever it is and I hope I’m not paying for it.

seeing the same thing, its such a waste of money! it keeps writing the plan over and over like its in a loop burning my cash :frowning:

Is cursor going to issue refunds for this? just spent 10$ on a single message

Try out a good system prompt and ask gemini to do tasks in a sequence or tell it the tasks one by one, if you say hi update these all files and something like this then it will definitely ruin your code, this is my POV.
