Gemini 2.5 never available

Gemini 2.5 pro and 2.5 experimental are always “having troubles”

However when I use my API key everything works as normal. SO the trouble is on Cursor side in fact.

And this is like that since models release. When can I expect this to be fixed?

Hi friends. I found the solution. It seems there is a bug with MCP and Gemini Setup in Cursor. Please go to the Cursor settings and disable all MCP. That fixed it for me.

Cursor team, please fix this bug. I don’t want to have to disable my MCP integrations in order to have a working Gemini 2.5. Thanks!

Hey, just to clarify, this is actually a bug with Gemini’s API, but we are working with Google to fix this asap!

I have issues using Edit (not chat), which shouldn’t have anything to do with MCP.
Around half the time there’s no output, but no error either. Resubmitting the edit a few times generally works.

The latency is insane compared to most models (2.0 Pro Exp is similar).

It could be timing out in Cursor as the latency is ~10x greater than most models.
For comparison, Sonnet 3.7 (thinking) on Google Vertex has a latency of 1.56s.
