I have Always respond in French, write commit message in French in User Rules, but when I generate commit message it’s still in english. My IDE, windows, keyboard is in french

Hey, thanks for the report. This is expected behavior.

User Rules only apply to Agent (Chat) and don’t affect other AI features. According to the Git integration design, commit message generation can’t be customized directly - Cursor automatically adapts to your existing commit style based on your repo’s git history and staged changes.

As a workaround, you can create your commits in French for a while, and Cursor should eventually start following that pattern.
