Hey, thanks for the request. This is a known issue: commit message generation doesn’t respect User Rules, and it often ignores the language of previous commits in the repo, so it ends up generating messages in English.
The team is working on adding this. There are two related threads with a lot of votes:
As a workaround: if you write commits manually in the language you want for a while, Cursor may start to adapt to that pattern, although it’s not always consistent.
I’d recommend adding your vote to the first thread. It helps the team prioritize this feature.
