Thanks for flagging this, and sorry for the disruption. You’re right that you didn’t trigger this, and it wasn’t the Update option in settings.
Earlier this afternoon (around 4:30 PM ET), we ran a planned infrastructure migration that moved Grok Bot computers onto new servers, and your computer was rebuilt as part of that. A rebuild carries over the files in your home folder and your saved logins, but apps installed system-wide and the browser’s own profile (extensions, history, open tabs) don’t come along. The previous computer can’t be restored, so those apps will need to be reinstalled.
Your computer is running normally on the latest version now. Keeping installers or portable apps in your home folder means they’ll still be there if the computer is ever rebuilt again, which should make setup quicker.
