Describe the Bug

On my Debian machine, the agent Computer view is blank gray, both Take over and the Computer icon (top right). The agent’s own screenshot shows the real desktop (e.g. Chrome with Google sign-in). Health checks pass. But I can’t see or control the screen.

Actual: blank gray Computer view (Take over + top-right Computer).

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open Grok Bot on Debian.
  2. Open an agent chat that has a Computer (or ask the agent to open a page in its browser).
  3. Click the Computer icon (top right), or use Take over when the agent asks for a login.
  4. Look at the Computer view.

Expected Behavior

I should see a live stream of the agent’s desktop (browser, apps, mouse) and be able to interact with it.

Yes - Cursor is unusable

Nothing’s misconfigured on your end. The blank gray Computer view (preview tile and Take over) is specific to the current Linux desktop build. The agent and its screenshots are unaffected, which matches your health checks passing.

We’ve let the team know and this is an issue we’re tracking. There’s no setting on your side that’ll bring the live view back on this build, so hold tight for now - I’ll post here as soon as the fix lands in a build you can update to.

Having same issue, on version 0.16.0. I also noticed that the .deb download for Grok Bot is no longer available? @mohitjain Any insight?

They probably removed it cuz it’s unusable for linux user @Aleksi

I can confirm it is fixed on v0.20.0

Same here on Ubuntu 24.04.4 LTS, GNOME, Wayland, Grok Bot 0.16.0 (/opt/Grok Bot).

Computer / Take over is blank. Bot-side screenshots still show the real desktop. Same account on Windows can see and control the computer (used that to finish a site login).

Confirming this is Linux-client only. I’ll try 0.20.0 if Check for Updates offers it.

How did you get version 0.20.0, if the current version is 0.18.0?

I just asked grok build if there is a linux v0.18.0 and it could not find v.0.18.0, but instead found v0.20.0 :man_shrugging:

There are several versions, x64 and arm, deb, rpm and AppImage. I have the urls listed on my twitter, since I cannot post so many links here.
