Grok Bot iOS login only offers accounts.x.ai — Cursor Apple SSO account not found

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Grok Bot

Describe the Bug

On desktop, Grok Bot is signed in with my Cursor account via Sign in with Apple. On iOS, there is no “Sign in with Cursor” option. The flow goes to accounts.x.ai and Apple offers to create a new account with a new email. The only way to login is to find the email used by Apple then use the “Send link to email to log in”

Steps to Reproduce

  • Open Grok Bot on iPhone
  • Start sign-in.
  • Apple Sign in proposes creating a new account (not linking the existing Cursor session).
  • Stop before creating — creating would clearly be a separate identity.

Expected Behavior

“Sign in with Cursor” (or reuse the existing Cursor Apple SSO session), same Bots as desktop.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey @Benahordure, thanks for the report!

We’re working on it! Right now, sending the magic link is the correct workaround.

Hey @Colin,

I believe I’m encountering the same iOS authentication issue described in this thread.
I already know the exact email address associated with my existing Cursor Pro account.
However, when I enter that email into the xAI/accounts.x.ai login flow on iOS, it creates/signs me into a NEW account rather than authenticating me into my existing Cursor account.
So I don’t think the normal “send a login link to email” flow is the “magic link” mentioned by support in this thread.
Please provide the specific magic authentication link that associates the iOS Grok Bot app with my existing Cursor account.
My existing Cursor Pro account works correctly on desktop. I would rather not create a second account or purchase another subscription.

Platform: iOS
App: Grok Bot
Existing plan: Cursor Pro

The magic link means following

Grok Bot on iPhone opens accounts.x.ai. Sign in like this:

  1. Choose email sign-in.
  2. Enter the email on your existing Cursor account, for example [email protected].
  3. Choose send a link to that email.

I don’t seem to have that option (in Germany).

What I have:

  1. Continue with email
  2. Log in with your email (on accounts.x.ai)
  3. Email sign-in code
  4. Code from email
  5. Free Account

Hey @enolik97, thanks for the screenshots, they help a lot.

Those screens are from the Grok app, which is a separate app from Grok Bot. The “Free Account” you saw is a Grok plan, so it isn’t connected to your Cursor Pro plan. Nothing changed on your Cursor account, and you don’t need to buy anything there.

To get your Cursor Pro account on your iPhone:

  1. Install and open the Grok Bot app from the App Store. Its first screen has a single “Log In or Sign Up” button, not separate Google, X, Apple and email buttons.
  2. Tap “Log In or Sign Up”.
  3. On the accounts.x.ai page that opens, choose the email option and enter the exact email on your Cursor Pro account.
  4. Tap “Email sign-in code”, then enter the code from your inbox and finish signing in.

Hey Colin, my mistake. That did the trick. Thanks.
