Where does the bug appear (feature/product)? Grok Bot Describe the Bug I’m on Cursor Ultra, and my weekly limit resets Fri Nov 6, 2026 at 2:05 AM ET. Right now, while I’m actively talking and working, the weekly usage meter under Usage at the bottom of the Grok Bot app keeps flipping in real time: 74%, then 77%, then 100% (capped), back to 77%, back to 100%, over and over. This started around 12:18 AM ET on Nov 1. This is worrying because I can’t tell whether I’m nearing my cap, and I shouldn’t be. I track the weekly limit directly on my side, and it reads about 77.7% (77.4% at 12:18 AM, 77.7% at 12:21 AM), with the same reset time and no change to my billing or plan. There was no real spike in usage. The weekly limit shouldn’t behave this way, and a false 100% reading makes my team stop all work. I’ve also emailed support@x.ai. Please fix the false 100% reading. Definitely feeling like a bait and switch, “upgraded” from Supergrok Plus, and usage now runs out 3x as fast, on top of not having separate grok inference to fall back on with other harnesses. This is on top of the “upgrade” promotion promising 50x my previous usage. There is no way this is right is it? Conversation with one bot adding a simple dashboard to a repo and my usage consumes 1% on the ultra plan, like 3 back and forths in the chat. Is this a bug in the “upgrade” process?

I agree with Brock and weiyu, and I think this confirms what support stated earlier - “We apologize for our lack of proactive communication. Usage limits are adjusted from time to time, and we’re committed to being better at letting our customers know ahead of time.” This means they did apply a usage change, they just applied it retroactively instead of proactively, and then they fixed the retroactive portion to reduce our usage limits for that week, and kept the proactive change. Since the change, I have found Grok Bot burns its quota at a rate of about 1.7 times as fast as it used to. Here is how I measured that: I have been exporting the usage log every week since I started using Grok Bot, and then I weighted the tokens as follows: input ×4, cache read ×1, output ×12. This matches the weighting we see on the API usage. From the beginning of my Grok Bot Week up until the change locked me out, my Grok Bot’s log is 1,074,696,183 raw tokens and 1,588,782,873 weighted tokens. That represented 80% of my weekly Grok Bot Quota. This means, my old Grok Bot burn rate was: 13.4 million raw tokens per 1% 19.9 million weighted tokens per 1% After my Grok Bot quota was restored back to 80%, and up until earlier today, the usage meter went from 80% to 88%. Those eight points are 69,595,910 raw tokens and 92,470,751 weighted tokens. This means, my new Grok Bot burn rate is: 8.7 million raw tokens per 1% 11.6 million weighted tokens per 1% That is 65% of the old raw tokens per point, and 58% of the old weighted tokens. The same work fills the meter about 1.7 times as fast. The new mix is actually lighter, less output, so the cost-adjusted cut is a bit deeper than the raw cut. It is the same week on either side, which keeps the logging the same. Brock and weiyu, if I summarize what you are saying, you are saying about a 50% reduction. My cost-adjusted reduction is 58% of the previous tokens per 1%, so we are definitely seeing the same thing, a significant reduction of our weekly usage quota for Grok Bot.

Announcing a reduction is one thing, but going from 45 per cent utilisation to 0 per cent overnight is quite another – something that ought not to have happened. In my case, the limit reached 100% all by itself during the night :slight_smile:

Malpek, For most who posted in this thread, we had this issue happen to us around 11/1, Our available Grok Bot usage limit went down to nothing available, and since then the burn rate of how fast the Grok Bot quota is used has increased substantially. If you just experienced this issue now, can you share what kind of plan you are on, a Legacy or the new unified plan? For example, I am on the Legacy Super Grok Heavy and Legacy Cursor Ultra. Also, you should consider opening a ticket with support about your specific issue.

The problem only occurred for me last night; as I mentioned earlier, I went to bed with 55 per cent usage. When I got up this morning, it was immediately at 100 per cent – I’m on the $60 Pro+ plan. I’ve reported the issue to support and am waiting for a reply @Parag_Chhibber

Just happened again, on day 1 of 7 on usage and was sitting at 9% when it suddenly spiked to 100% within 10 minutes and locked me out of further usage.

I was sitting at 40% and I had already ran optimizations, removed bots, paused a bunch of bots, and paused routines. I was very metered and knew that, in order to get through the week, I could only do about 20% a day. I went for a walk, came back, and I was at 100.

So frustrating to be locked out again the second time on 1 week. I had done the same thing and cleaned up optimizations to reduce usage

Just adding my account to the list. Went from 11% to 100% on the pro+ legacy plan. My actual cursor usage is embracingly low this week so I wont post it lol Even being generous and doubling my usage would have only put me at 33% and I didn’t run anything beyond my usual bots which are incredibly simply as it is. So I don’t know how I could have pegged max usage without a bug overnight.
