Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

Hey, thanks for the report. Good news: this isn’t a network or computer issue, so no rebuild is needed, and DNS or a hotspot won’t change anything.

Here’s what’s happening: the account you’re signed into in Grok Bot is currently on the Free plan, and it doesn’t have any Grok Bot plan linked yet. Because of that, the app can’t start the computer, and the “Can’t reach computer” message is, unfortunately, a pretty confusing way to show it. I’ll flag to the team that the wording should be clearer.

To fix it, we need to figure out where you bought the 30/month plan. Cursor doesn’t have that plan, so it’s important to link the payment in the right place:

  • If you bought SuperGrok on grok.com or in the Grok app, you need to link it to your Cursor account. First, sign in on cursor.com with the same Cursor account you use in Grok Bot. This matters because SuperGrok links to the account you do it on, and it can’t be moved to a different account later. Then open Cursor - The best way to code with AI and follow the steps to link it. Also make sure the email on the Grok side matches.
  • If you paid Cursor directly, this is an account or billing issue, and it’s best handled by our team at [email protected]. Feel free to include your receipt so they can check where the payment went.
  • If you haven’t paid for anything yet, you can start a free 1-week Grok Bot trial at Sign in. A card is required, but there are no charges during the trial.

After any of these steps, fully quit Grok Bot right-click the icon in the Windows system tray and click Quit, then reopen it and sign in with the same email. It should then go straight into computer setup.

For future reference, to check the version: in Grok Bot, open Settings and scroll to the bottom of the page. You’re currently on 0.36.0.

Let me know if it still doesn’t work after that.

FYI, I also expereince the same issue.

I bought Supergrok plan, and have already follow your instruction to link SuperGrok to Cursor. I can login Cursor no problem and reset the password. I can login to cursor on cursor website no issue. But it still gives me can’t reach computer.

I have the same error on creating first bot on both Mac and Windows.

Hey, thanks for the screenshot. The link went through successfully, and the SuperGrok tier gives access to Grok Bot. So linking looks fine. The issue is that the desktop app hasn’t picked up the entitlement yet. No need to rebuild your computer.

Try these in order:

  1. In Grok Bot, fully sign out, then sign back in with the same account you used when linking. This forces the app to re-check your access status.
  2. If that doesn’t help, fully quit Grok Bot from the Windows system tray right-click the icon, Quit, not just closing the window, then open it again.
  3. Check if access works in the Grok Bot mobile app with the same account.

If you still get “can’t reach computer”, please start a separate thread so it doesn’t get mixed with the earlier case, and include:

  • The email on your Cursor account
  • The email/handle on the Grok/xAI side and whether they match
  • Your Grok Bot platform and version
  • Whether it works on mobile
  • The Request ID if you can grab it

With that info, we can check whether the entitlement reached the right account.
