High memory usage leading to UI freezing/hanging

I am a Pro suer. At the begin of using Cursor, it’s quite smooth, but it hangs always or responses very slowly, even I need to wait for seconds while I click the input chat field. Meanwhile, I opened my project via trae and windsur*f, both are smooth. That is all info I could provide, please help me out.

I think this issue is related to a large amount of chat history in your project. You can try renaming your project and opening it. If that helps, then the cause is clear. If your chat history is important to you, you can try exporting it using this extension:

Well, I clean the chat history via the button of “show chat history” at upper right, now the IDE is smooth again.

One more question, if I clean all chat history, which leads to the missing context, so if I start a new chat for the current project, what kind of prompt should I write to the agent for keeping the performance of the agent?
