The Chat always opens in the side panel by default. It’s possible to convert it to an editor tab by clicking the “Open as Editor” button but this requires manual action each time a new session is started.
Is there a way to set Chat to open as an editor tab by default? This setting doesn’t seem to be available in the preferences menu.

+1 also. Is very frustrating to me to lost all the righ panel just for the chat. I know I can add other panels, but I lost having the chat opened, so I end up opening it as a editor. But why I cannot do that by default all the time?
Hey, unfortunately, such settings are not available yet. However, if it’s inconvenient for you to use the mouse every time to open the chat as an editor, you can try the shortcut Cmd/Ctrl + D to switch between modes.
