Open chat as editor still not working

Steps to Reproduce

clicking on open chat as editor does nothing
Cleaning AppData/Roaming Cursor folder doesn’t fix it

Expected Behavior

To open the chat as a new tab in editor instead of having it pinned in split window mode

Hey, thanks for the report. This is a known issue, here’s an identical bug report: Open Chat as Editor does Nothing

The team is already aware. I’ll add your report to the existing bug tracker.

Workaround until it’s fixed:

  • Use Maximize Chat Ctrl+Alt+E. It hides the editor and shows only the chat and agent panels.
  • Or run two separate Cursor instances with different workspaces, one for chat and one for files. Details are in the link above.
