in my case, when I did Command Palette (Ctrl + Shift + P ) and type Cursor: Attempt Update, cursor closed and it started installing automatically.
I did this because of the issue of self-removing Cursor.
(Cursor was removing itself when I closed my computer. It happened to me for the first time, but few other people also experienced this. )
