On my personal Cursor account, localhost links open in the built-in browser by default. On my work account, I at some point got a popover asking where to open links and accidentally chose external browser. Now localhost always opens externally, and I can’t find how to switch back or get that prompt again.
Is there a setting to default localhost to Cursor’s browser? How do I reset this on an account where I picked external by mistake? I have the “show localhost links in browser” setting enabled, but links still open externally.
Hi @oliviazoe Sorry about that. You have the correct setting in place. Could you do me a favor and let me know how you’re accessing that link? If you ask Cursor to print a localhost link and then click on it does it open in the browser? I just tried that, and it opened in the browser as expected, so I’m curious how you’re accessing localhost.
Hi Kevin thank you for checking!! I just tested opening links from the chat and it works as expected! My issue is actually only when the integrated terminal auto-opens a localhost URL (for example Vite printing http://localhost:5173/... and the terminal offering to open it).
