I have been trying to follow instructions on how to index my code base, but the instructions do not work.
Clicking on the settings cog on the top of the screen, I can scroll all the way down and never find any button to index the code base. All the instructions say the option should be there.
I have entered by OpenAI key, but will not subscribe until I can get this thing working.
Windows 11, most recent version.
The codebase indexing is located in the AI Pane, not in the settings popup. If you don’t see the “Toggle AI Pane” button at the top, you have to right-click on the menu bar and enable “Layout Controls”. Let me know if you have any other questions!
Thank you. The project is already indexed. But the chat tool denies that it has the ability to use the index.
It says I should use the Cursor tool. Is not the chat the same thing as the cursor tool? How can I ask about the code base? :
