How to switch back to the editor window in Cursor 3.6.31

Since the last update (3.6.31) my cursor editor is juste a huge agent window, the file tree of my current repo is hidden, it’s difficult to have access to my files if I don’t know their names I can’t access them

The font is horrendous, the coloring of the theme is horrendous, I can’t even switch between tabs with the shortcut, you managed to ruin the tabs, the coloring in the search colunm is gone, and the list goes on and on, in general the UI and UX is hideous.

Is there a way to not have an agent IDE but an IDE with an integrated agent ? I despise this new interface, I know customers always hate when there interface changes but this is different, I can’t code, the interface is now meant to use only agent, I don’t spend my day talking to an AI, I code and from time to time I use the agent not the other way around.

I’m canceling my subscription by the end of the week, going back to VS code, and probably subscribing to claude code.

agree i can not stand this mess, i will unsubscibe too

where can i find history do you know

Hey @Louis_LANDIER

It sounds like you’ve landed on the Agents Window. If it’s not your cup of tea, you can still use the editor, either by clicking on Editor Window → , or just navigating to File → Open Editor Window.

It appears so, thank you so much for this, didn’t even this existed, you saved me thank you.

A dev stated you can prevent this action with a setting

Yep it was set to true indeed, thank you very much, I turned it off, didn’t like it, to say the least

Why don’t I see this setting?

Is your cursor up to date ? I’m on the 3.6.31

@birdyzcz Not all users have this setting today! However, if you don’t have this setting, it means that the Agent Window should not open by default on startup.
