When trying to run BugBot I get
Bugbot needs on-demand usage enabled
Bugbot uses usage-based billing for this team and requires on-demand usage to be enabled.
A team admin can enable on-demand usage in the Cursor dashboard.
But I’m not finding where I can turn on on-demand usage just for BugBot. As a non-profit, we’re on a tight budget and we can’t just turn general on-demand usage.
Hey, thanks for the request. Right now you can’t enable on-demand usage only for BugBot. It’s a single toggle for the whole account or team, so there’s no per-product switch. That’s why BugBot asks you to enable general on-demand.
If you want to stay on a tight budget, you can turn on on-demand usage and immediately set a low spend limit in the dashboard: Dashboard > Usage. Once you hit the limit, spending stops, so your cost won’t go above the cap you set. On average, one BugBot run costs about $1,00 to $1,50, so you can use that as a rough guide.
One important note: the spend limit applies to all on-demand spend chat plus BugBot, not just BugBot on its own. So the limit is shared.
The option to limit on-demand only for BugBot has already been suggested as a feature request, but it’s not supported yet. Billing details for BugBot are here: Bugbot usage-based billing | Cursor Docs
