Unlike the old chat interface within the IDE, this new interface mentions archiving chats, which seem to imply to me that there is an archive wherein chats can be reinstated but are moved to avoid cluttering up the interface. I accidentally archived something by hitting Command Shift E by accident, and fortunately I can’t find a way to recover that from an archive.

You can unarchive chats, the archive isn’t permanent.
To find an archived chat:
- In the Agents sidebar, find the Customize Sidebar button and make sure Archived Chats is enabled and visible.
- Once you see the archived chat in the list, hover over it and you should see an unarchive option.
Also good to know: Cmd+Shift+E in the Agents window archives the current chat instead of opening Explorer like it does in the regular editor. If you need the file tree in the Agents window, use Cmd+G. This shortcut conflict has already been shared with the team.
Let me know if you still can’t find the unarchive option.
this is bad design, use could accidentally click the button and find no way to restore it. Better have a notification at least.
This is terrible, i had to go back to classic view becuase i constantly archive chats because of the shortcut im used to and i cant change it… I think claude code is where its at
