Hi friends, I have a problem with having to premium on the cursor even though I haven’t used any premium, any suggestions?
I want to try the cursor even requires premium..
Too many free trial accounts used on this machine. Please upgrade to pro. We have this limit in place to prevent abuse. Please let us know if you believe this is a mistake.
I’m facing the same issue. I just went back to VS Code; it’s my first time using it. A friend recommended I try it out before deciding to buy it, but it didn’t work for me, so I just went back to VS Code
The alert saying “Too many free trials” should only show up if you have already used other Cursor accounts on your machine before.
We do this to avoid people abusing our free trial over and over, but it shouldn’t stop a new user from trying out Cursor for the first time!
If this is your first trial of Cursor, please send an email to [email protected] and we will investigate. If all looks good, we will get your Pro trial working for you!
Also ran into this exact same issue - Cursor quite clearly have a bug in their detection approach here - installed Cursor for the very first time today, created an account, got the email confirming free trial of Pro…and the very first attempt to use the agent results in this “too many free trials on this machine” error. Contacted them via email but was just given a blanket dismissal saying the machine had too many trial accounts previously (it’s had none) - no acknowledgement that it’s a bug on their side at all. Was looking to trial it out as an alternative for JetBrains IDEs (Pycharm Pro), but this already makes Cursor seem completely amateurish by comparison.
