We’re a team of 5 people, we’ll all probably need the Ultra plan. But it looks like the teams thing doesn’t include an option to do that. The $40/month plan says “Everything in Pro”, which is nothing. I burn through that before I show up to work.
If I want centralized invoicing, do I need to downgrade our team to less usage limits? Or am I stupid? I hope it’s not both.
Hey, thanks for the question. There really is a gap here right now.
The Team plan ($40/user/month) includes $20 of API usage per user. Team does not have an equivalent of Ultra’s shared $400 usage pool. So yes, switching to Team just for centralized billing would mean each user gets noticeably less included usage compared to individual Ultra subscriptions.
Right now you’ve got these options:
Keep individual Ultra subscriptions. Everyone gets $400 of usage, but no centralized invoices.
Team plus overage. $20 per user is included, and any extra usage is pay as you go at API rates plus the Cursor Token Fee of $0,25 per 1M tokens. This gives you centralized billing, but it’s more expensive per dollar of actual usage.
Enterprise. If centralized billing matters at higher usage levels, reach out to Sales at Cursor · Contact our sales team to talk through options. Enterprise supports a shared usage pool across multiple seats, which may fit your team better.
The team knows about the request for higher limits on Team, but there’s no ETA yet.
For 5 users who all need Ultra level usage, I’d honestly lean toward option 1 or 3, depending on how important consolidated billing is for you.
