I restarted the IDE and everything reset

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

I restarted Cursor and suddenly the authorization, the authorization of extensions inside, the GUI settings, the list of recent folders, the list of models in the Agent chat were reset, and I can’t open the chat I was working in a minute ago in the same project that opened after launch!

Only the application settings remained untouched. Chats in other projects either disappeared or do not open. WTF?!

UPD: Settings also reseted except the rules

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Close the program, because you thought that something broke or hung again, which is why the agent cannot normally run the command in the terminal.
  2. Immediately open the program and get the authorization window in your face.

Windows 10/11

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, thanks for the report. Did this occur during a normal restart of Cursor? Also, could you let me know if there’s enough space on your disk? It’s possible that a failure during the restart erased all the data. Chats should generally be accessible, but if not, insufficient disk space might be the cause.

Some time before the problem I saw 8 GB of free space of 240 Gb total on the system disk. Now 10 GB is free, but I have done a lot of operations on it during this time.

Closing the program seemed fine and I immediately launched it again.
Maybe I can send additional logs if they might have been saved?

You can find the logs at this path: C:\Users<YourUsername>\AppData\Roaming\Cursor\logs

I hope you find the root of the problem. The most painful thing was losing all chats in all projects.
