I purchased a yearly Cursor subscription back in December last year. My main concern is that I might forget to cancel it before the next renewal this coming December.
If I cancel the subscription now, will I still keep access to Cursor until the end of my current billing period (this December), or will it stop immediately after canceling?
I basically just want to prevent the automatic renewal, but I still want to keep using the subscription for the time I’ve already paid for.
Has anyone tried canceling a yearly plan early and can confirm how it works?
a bit like how cancelling Amazon Prime makes it sound like you lose access when cancelling (ie. immediately) without clarifying it’s actually when the billing cycle end.
Where are you seeing that?
Is that after you see this billing confirmation screen (see screenshot below)? Or are you canceling via a different method than my post? The “manage stripe” canceling method does clearly state you will have access to the end of the billing period.
Also Amazon is deceptive at first, but they eventually state that your benefits will end on a specific date in the future. So they are clear after they try to scare you into not canceling at first.
it’s before you get to the ‘manage stripe’ page. It’s when you’re on https://cursor.com/dashboard/billing
and you click the ‘cancel’ button at the bottom.
I think this needs the same message text as the stripe text.
Good catch. I wonder what the bottom button even does? I would assume it takes you to the stripe page. Seems like there should be only one button to cancel, so ‘manage in stripe’ or ‘cancel’ at the bottom of the billing page. If both are kept, then yea the verbiage should be the same. @deanrie
That bottom button takes you to the stripe page after showing that message I screenshotted. Surely that’s the only way to get to the stripe page to cancel??
