Inline Comments in Plan Mode (like in Google's Antigravity)

Feature request for product/service

Cursor IDE

Describe the request

The Problem:
Iterating on long markdown plans in Cursor is tedious. I have to copy-paste snippets back into the chat or manually rewrite markdown just to fix a few specific lines.

The Solution:
Add an inline commenting feature like Google Docs or Google Antigravity’s Plan Mode.

I want to highlight a specific block of the generated plan, click “Comment,” and type a note (e.g., “Use TanStack Query here instead”). Once I finish adding comments to different sections, I hit “Execute,” and the AI updates the whole plan based on those localized anchors.

Why this matters:
Honestly, I always end up going to Antigravity to generate & iterate on plans because of this specific feature ONLY. It makes it incredibly intuitive to generate specs. Bringing this to Cursor would completely fix the plan-iteration workflow.

A change I’d suggest here is that there be two options once there are inline comments. To either “Refine plan” or to “Build with comments”. i.e., it would be great to ask the AI to either work on the plan itself, or to start working in agent mode, executing the plan, but keeping the comments in mind (so to speak).

The above is just bonus though - right now, the most painful part of planning mode is manually pointing out to the AI which part of a huge plan I’m talking about. The process I usually follow is to copy a chunk of text I want it to rework, paste that into chat prefixed with > and then write my comments underneath. Rinse & repeat for every comment I want to make. Seriously tedious, but it works. Having a proper comment option on the plan would be quite a time-saver.
