Install extension guide link is not working

Hi!

If you open the Extensions panel and try to find some extension, you’ll see a link at the bottom that says, “Don’t see the extension you’re looking for? Click here to learn how to install it.”

This link points to https://www.cursor.com/how-to-install-extension, which currently returns a 404.

Cursor version details:

Version: 0.49.6
VSCode Version: 1.96.2
Commit: 0781e811de386a0c5bcb07ceb259df8ff8246a50
Date: 2025-04-25T05:07:16.071Z
Electron: 34.3.4
Chromium: 132.0.6834.210
Node.js: 20.18.3
V8: 13.2.152.41-electron.0
OS: Darwin arm64 23.6.0

It is no longer relevant. It used to work you would manually download the extension from vscode marketplace and add it to cursor. Microsoft has since removed the ability to download extensions from the marketplace.

Hey, thanks for the report, we’ll update this page soon. You can also install the extension from a VSIX file, but you’ll need VS Code for that. To do this, find the extension you need in the Extensions tab and click on the gear icon. In the dropdown menu, you’ll see the option to download the extension.
