Is cursor purposely not fixing "tool update_memory not found" bugs because it results in wasting more prompts?

I’m not going to post a bug for this because there are plenty that I’ll link below. The issue is that Cursor regularly loses context of its rules / memories and goes off script, resulting in wasting lots of prompts. Attempts to add or address these memory issues results in Cursor returning with “tool update_memory not found”. Sometimes switching agents works, and sometimes it doesn’t.

One direct side effect of this bug is that users waste more prompts trying to get Cursor to do what it should already be doing - following its own rules. This means that fixing this bug could have a negative impact on the number of queries users are running per month on their account. Less queries equals less money.

What seems odd is that every single one of these bugs is either ignored outright or “we’ll look into it” and subsequently ignored. If we look at it generously, it’s not necessarily in Cursor’s best interests to fix this bug. I’m curious to hear from the community, why do you feel these bugs aren’t being addressed?

Cursor forums only let me post two bug links but there are a whole lot more than this.

When a company has 900 million dollar funding rounds, the shareholders are 900 million times more important than the users. The shareholds are in it for the IPO where they and the founders dump their shares into the public space and only the H1-B fools that did not have enough shares to retire on are left running the company from their remote desktops in India.

It’s all about the money. Exponentioally Ramp up the userbase with noncoders who can now create millions lines of ■■■■ code for $200/month

Actual software developers with decades of experience, and level headed concerns about product quality do not matter, in fact they are a nusance in the way of ever higher profit margins especially when they notice the built in intentionall profit creation “bugs” like memory tool failures

Cursor Version 3 will introduce the “User Credit System” score to keep annoying users like us quiet AND charge us more usage for submitting bug reporst, and even worse disccussing bug reports

Just an update that it’s still happening. The idea that this is a bug that simply exists in good faith is becoming less and less realistic.
