Feature Request: Jump to Start of Question/Context
Goal
Enhance navigation within the chat history by providing a simple, one-click mechanism to return to the precise location where a question or topic was initially asked, ensuring the user can review the full original context without manual scrolling.
That’s an excellent suggestion for improving the user experience! Providing a quick way to jump back to the start of a specific question block in a chat history, especially when the conversation gets long, would be very useful.
Detailed Proposal
Currently, navigating long chat threads requires manual scrolling to find the original question when reviewing a generated answer. This feature would solve that by introducing a dedicated action to jump back to the starting point.
Mechanism:
Placement: A small, discreet, and contextually visible element (e.g., an icon or button) should be placed near the start of the AI’s response to a user’s question.
Action: When clicked, the element instantly scrolls the chat view up to the user’s initial prompt that triggered that specific block of conversation.
Clarity: This jump must always target the immediately preceding user prompt that initiated the current response chain, making it clear where the context begins.
Example Scenario (User Experience):
A user asks a long, complex question about Angular architecture.
The AI provides a detailed, multi-paragraph answer.
The user continues the conversation with follow-up questions, causing the original answer to scroll far off-screen.
The user wants to quickly re-read their original question (Step 1) to ensure the AI’s answer (Step 2) is fully relevant.
Instead of scrolling manually, they click the “Jump to Question” icon next to the AI’s response.
The view instantly scrolls up, placing the original question at the top of the visible chat window.
