Just confused on usage in this new plan

As @G4Q4 has suggested, what has likely happened here is you have fully consumed your “burst” rate limit which is very large (especially on Ultra), but also very slow to refill. Just to state, the “burst” rate limit is always >= your plan amount - if you have consumed all of this, this signifies you have used at least $200 worth of usage so far.

This unfortunately then limits you to only use your “local” rate limits, which is much smaller but resets fully every few hours.

As @IsaacHopkinson has mentioned, your usage so far has been highly exceptional for what we would see, even from the top 0.1% of users. For context, your usage equates to one request every ~90seconds, 24 hours a day, since the new plan started.

This does suggest some kind of automated user / shared use between multiple people - both of which are neither supported nor allowed in our terms and conditions.

If you have any more info on how you have used this volume of requests, we can maybe provide some support on how best to move forward!

So just to clarify: once I blow past the burst rate limit, I’m stuck on the local rate limit—and that local quota is a lot smaller, right?

Also, you can check my login IPs: it’s only my home and my office, so I’m not sharing the account with anyone else. My usage really is heavy, which is why I went for the Ultra Plan.

Any info on burst rate limits? How long does it take to refill?

Does it refill incrementally? Or does it just suddenly fully replenish all the way to the top?

Does it replenish at the end of your billing cycle?

That is correct, but on Ultra as an individual developer, you should almost never hit rate limits!

It looks like you’ve switched to Sonnet 4 Thinking, and have had almost 500 requests in the last two days! Is everything going smoothly for you now?
