Just cusor tab plan

@deanrie supermaven seems to broken for IntelliJ.
I am still using IntelliJ and cursor at the same time.
IntelliJ just has amazing refactoring tools.
Just having the cursor tab complete would be great.
Any plans on fixing supermaven, providing cursor tab for IntelliJ? Please

I think this is great

It’s available:

We are living in 2025, latest version only works with 2024.

supermaven is no longer supported. Or do you suggest to install older versions of IntelliJ?

Oh, sorry, I didn’t know that. I’ll ask the team if they are planning an update.

The team will release an update soon, thank you for reporting this.

Any hope of this will be included in the cursor pro subscription?
You can always ask

Unfortunately, I don’t think so. Even though the Supermaven team has joined Cursor, their product still exists as a separate entity.

This is not a good idea; it will kill Cursor.

I don’t understand the logic behind your reply. I would happily pay an extra $5 for this feature alone. I’m developing mobile apps for Android using Flutter and Kotlin. Flutter’s integration with Android Studio is significantly better than with VS Code.

Also, I don’t think Anysphere will be able to continue providing VS Code alternatives for everything. In the end, there’s nothing particularly special about the TAB feature — it’s just an FIM (Fill-in-the-Middle) model with extra actions, probably transmitted as control characters that the editor interprets.

It would be nice to build a standardized interface around it (similar to language servers), so that the community behind each major text editor or IDE could handle the rest. I miss the days when I could use VS Code for nearly everything. Now, unfortunately, it feels like a new AI-powered IDE is released every week.

Second thought: imagine a scenario where a malicious extension — possibly a community-driven effort — hooks into the cursor and tracks TAB completions. The telemetry and gathered data could then be used to train or fine-tune a small parameter model. Over time, someone or some company might be able to achieve similar TAB autocomplete performance.

Agreed. The QOL features of Cursor’s Tab model (jump to line, jump to file), and the quality and speed of the model itself are easily worth $5-10 bucks. Unless Supermaven has these features, they are not really a substitute.

Cursor introduced blazing fast autocomplete via tab. I loved Cursor for this feature. But they messed up their pricing. Many including I cancelled. If Cursor introduces a $10 / month plan for unlimited autocomplete even with reduced agentic request credits, I’d be happy to pay! I think many would resubscribe in a jiffy. What do you all think?

Supermaven (acquired by Cursor) charges $10 / month for super fast code completions. So why can’t Cursor introduce this pricing tier?

Let’s all vote for this feature guys. We need this :100:

Hi @ed1432 and thank you for your feature request.

We have received already requests for a Tab only plan, and will consider it in the future.

I really like this ideia, could be 10 dollars in usage + tab. This is most interesting for countries where the money is weak, and 20 dollars would be a big amount for those. So, these people can use Auto + some Premium model + Tab

Agree. We need Tab only plan
