Just starting with Cursor and missing so many options

I just signed up and downloaded Cursor and want to start working with Salesforce projects. I don’t see any Salesforce extension when I go to Marketplace, and also shft-ctl-X opens up some other app in my system, not the Extensions/Marketplace. Could I have the wrong version of Cursor?

My screen looking for extension pack, limited menu options.

OK, Cursor support is quick! Here is the answer in case anyone else has the same confusion:

Your version info shows Layout: glass, which means you’re currently in the Agents Window, Cursor 3’s new agent-focused interface. This is intentionally simplified and doesn’t support VS Code extensions. The marketplace you’re seeing is Cursor’s own integration marketplace (for tools like Datadog, Slack, etc.), not the VS Code extension marketplace.

To install the Salesforce Extension Pack, switch to the classic Editor:

  • Press Ctrl+Shift+P and select “Open Editor Window”

  • Or press Ctrl+Shift+N to open an Editor Window directly

From there, you’ll have full access to the VS Code extension marketplace where you can find and install the Salesforce Extension Pack. You can also keep both windows open at the same time.
