Latest Cursor just shows"Generating..."

Since Friday on Windows shows only “Generating…” in Agent mode

In another project cursor works. No reboot of Windows, logout/login, new chat etc. helped. Where can I check whether requests even go out? Where is the debug console for cursor?

A “solution” was to delete the Cursor and Code directory but then all settings are gone.

I think this come from your Rules or MCP if you have any .. ? I had the same issue and I changed my Cursor Rules and fixed my MCP Server and then it was able to generate correctly than … Might wanna look at that too

You could rename the project which deletes the chat history for that project, for some users its too large and wiping it helps. I use SpecStory to backup chats if you care about old chats (install that extension first, check the export before renaming, note it exports only, no import)

I completely reset cursor app by deleting the Cursor and Code directories (Windows). It work for some time but now “Generating” is shown without any error or feedback again.

Yeah then a bug report is good. Mods will see it but as they are checking various causes it would help them if you check Cursor – Common Issues and provide perhaps also Developer Tools - Console logs of what happens there when you try to submit. As far as i understand this type of error doesnt send a request to their API.
