Latest update broke extensions

Upon updating my Ubuntu machine to the latest version of Cursor yesterday, my extensions fail to activate.

  • Reloading the window or reloading the extensions just prompts a brief “Activating extensions…” indication before silently failing.
  • My Macbook doesn’t seem to show any issue.

My normal workflow relies on language server extensions for Python and Julia, and so Cursor is effectively unusable for me currently.

Did you ever find a fix for it? I’m having the same issues currently as well

This is a pretty old thread from December - I’d suggest creating a new one since the versions discussed here are outdated

If you’re experiencing extension issues on Ubuntu, check out our latest troubleshooting guide here: Cursor – Common Issues

The current stable version is much newer than what’s mentioned in this thread, so updating should probably resolve any extension activation problems

No, but I think it fixed itself with the release of 0.44! No issues currently, upgraded today from 0.45 to 0.46
