Linear "Status Changed" trigger only fires for automation creator — not for other team members

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Background Agent (GitHub, Slack, Web, Linear)

Describe the Bug

My Cursor Automation uses a Linear → Status Changed trigger. It fires when I change a status but never when a teammate does — even though they’re a member of the scoped team and project.

Is this by design, or is there a way to make it fire for all team members?

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a Cursor Automation with a Linear → Status Changed trigger scoped to a specific team/project
  2. Have a teammate (not the automation creator) change an issue status in that project
  3. Check cursor/agents — no run appears
  4. Have the automation creator change any issue status in the same project
  5. Check cursor.com/agents — run appears immediately

Expected Behavior

The automation fires for any team member’s status change, not just the automation creator’s.

Operating System

Windows 10/11

Version Information

Version Information:

  • Cursor Version: latest (as of March 7, 2026)
  • Automations feature (recently launched)

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, thanks for the report. We’re looking into how Linear automation triggers handle events from different team members.

In the meantime, try these steps:

  • Have each team member confirm Linear is connected in their own https://cursor.com/settings under Integrations.
  • Mention @Cursor in any Linear issue from each team member’s account to trigger account linking.
  • Check that the automation visibility is set to Team Visible or Team Owned (not Private).

Let me know if triggers start firing for other team members after this.
