Unable to connect linear & cursor

HAs anyone been able to get this working? I’ve connected linear and cursor, but when i try to tag cursor in linear I get a comment back saying that to use cloud agents please link my cursor account first with a link to “Link your account” which just takes me to the integrations page where it shows that linear and cursor are already connected.

I have on demand usage turned on, and my privacy settings are set to share.

i’m not really sure what else i’m doing wrong, the cursor support bot has just sent me in circles.

Hey, thanks for the report. This is a known issue and the team is aware.

A couple quick questions to make sure everything’s set up correctly:

  1. Is GitHub connected? For the Linear integration, you need GitHub connected in the dashboard (for creating PRs). Cursor Settings > Integrations. GitHub should show as connected, with a default repository selected.

  2. What exact error do you see? Can you share a screenshot of the comment Cursor posts in Linear?

  3. Are you using a Personal or Team account?

Also, try disconnecting and reconnecting the Linear integration in the dashboard. Sometimes it helps reset the loop. If that doesn’t help, send the info above and I’ll pass it to the team.

@deanrie I’m running into the same issue. As the person who set up the integration, I’m able to assign issues to Cursor and it works, but when others in the workspace assign issues to Cursor, they get an error saying, “To use Cloud Agents, please link your Cursor account first.

Does each user need to link their Linear account with their individual Cursor account?

Yes, each user on the team needs to complete linking individually. Cloud Agents are tied to a specific Cursor account, so each team member needs to:

  1. Have their own Cursor subscription (Pro, Business, or Enterprise)
  2. Link their account with Linear. This happens the first time a task is assigned to Cursor or when @Cursor is mentioned in a comment. Linear will show a prompt to link, and then it should work.

If you’re on the Enterprise plan, there’s another option: Service Accounts. This is a shared, non-personal account that lets any team member delegate tasks without individual linking.

What plan are you on right now? And do the other team members have their own Cursor subscriptions? That’ll help suggest the best option for your situation.
