I spent 200-300 usd daily with Opus 4 Max. Now I’ve been using o3 for 3 days and it seems to make less clutter and unecessary extra code. Plus the best thing, all usage have been within the included Ultimate subscription, for Opus that ran out after half a day and had to pay.
Almost excited to see what o3 cost when it starts to bill on that, like how much cheaper it is than Opus 4 Max.
I did a few tests with Opus 4 Max since the post here, and one time it was fine, another it was starting to get messy and create code / delete code in like semi-circles or like doing that 2-3 times per message.
Haha… then trying Opus 4 Max again, and goes in circles 4 times, just wasting funds. Had to stop it.
What to do about this? @Cursor please… It’s getting too much now to be honest, my last request on this was unanswered to your billing. I am not sure how much, but yet again I have been charged hundreds for sure for nothing, just random infinite circle of nothing and errors …
It’s no big problem if you refund what’s not fair, but if you don’t then for me I will have to look elsewhere. Spent about 4k usd in 3 weeks, which is fine when things work, but when they don’t it’s just not.

I confirm. For the last 3 days, Opus and Sonet in MAX-mod have been constantly going in circles. I’ve been redoing it for 24 hours, first one way, then the other. When I create a new chat, everything repeats.
Request ID is 1 per chat. Do you want to me provide them all? Not sure which chats it messed up and which it did not, just not it’s like 70-85% currently.
It goes in circles and loops forever, happened many times the last 5-7 days, actually stopped using Opus 4 Max, but attempted again today… It’s just burning through funds not giving anything currently.
Steps to Reproduce
No idea. Just happens out of the blue, sometimes in the start of a chat even, some times after 2-4 messages.

Hey @condor I made a bug report now. But I only added the latest loop from Opus 4 Max … I would like to request you guys to look at this, also the billing for Opus 4 Max lately, don’t think it’s fair at all currently.
Worked so great for 2-3 weeks since start of this month and then no idea what happened…
I’ve been using Claude 4 Sonnet since it was added to Cursor. I only saw it loop once a few days ago, repeating the same thing over and over agin like on your screenshots.
After a few more tests, it just seems like Opus 4 Max don’t have much memory and don’t get context of anything anymore. I have not used Sonnet too much, but quite “funny” if the problem is the same there.
Everytime I am like, okay lets try again, cannot be that bad - it’s just destroying everything. It worked like a miracle from start of July until a week ago. I spent more than 3000 usd on Opus 4 Max and was so happy. However now, I am affraid to use it and I found o3 to be much better now. So actually it’s “good” I guess, I save funds, less headaches and mess. AND I don’t have to write and complain here
Might try that later today, but will probably be my last time. I won’t be using money to be some test person.
Did you guys check the duplicates and billing issues? With the last issue it was corrected super fast and impressed by the service. But now it’s dragging out a bit without any updates
