Describe the request
I think there are two related pieces here:
- Switching between accounts or organizations
- How Profiles work across those accounts or organizations
A lot of people use Cursor in more than one context. They may have a company account, a personal account, maybe even multiple organizations. Right now, switching between those contexts is not especially easy. There does not seem to be a simple account or organization switcher inside Cursor sessions.
The new Profiles feature is great, and it feels like the right direction. But it also raises a question: if I have multiple Cursor accounts or orgs, do I need to recreate and maintain the same profiles in each one?
Ideally, it would work more like GitHub:
- I have one user identity/profile
- I can belong to multiple organizations
- I can switch which organization/account is active
- My Profiles can be shared globally, with organization-specific overrides when needed
That would make Cursor feel much cleaner for people who use it across work, personal projects, consulting, open source, or multiple companies.
