I work at two different companies they give me each individual cursor accounts.
I have my own cursor account.
Now I have 3 cursor accounts.
How can I switch my accounts like in many saas it allows to switch organization.
Hi @alex8 , I also have multiple Cursor accounts. As far as I know, there isn’t a switcher, per se; you simply log out via General settings and log back in again with your other account. Projects aren’t tied to a particular account – you select those independently.
If by chance you are on a Mac and use Safari, the most convenient way to deal with this is set up Safari profiles. Then log into the corresponding Cursor account in each profile. Then when you have to log out / log in, make sure you have the correct profile in a Safari window already up. Then it’s just mouse clicks and it’s pretty fast to switch.
Hey, thanks for the request. Right now, Cursor only supports one signed-in account per installation, and there isn’t a separate account switcher yet. To switch to another of your three accounts: Cursor Settings > Account > Sign Out, or Cmd+Shift+P then type “Sign Out”, then sign in with different credentials.
Nothing gets lost. Chat history, rules, and the codebase index are stored locally on your machine, so they stay after you sign out. Projects also aren’t tied to your account, you pick them independently.
If you need to run two accounts at the same time, here are the options:
- Use a separate OS user for each account
- Launch Cursor with a separate
--user-data-dir - Use the community FOSS extension from this thread: I built an extension to run work and personal Cursor accounts at the same time (FOSS, no sign-out dance, no hacks, uses native userdata mechanism) (community-built, not officially supported)
