Model call composer 1.5 subagent without my consent

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

I am using codex 5.3 and I see it calls composer 1.5 subagent without me selecting composer 1.5 in allowed model, and all my subagent.md doesn’t allow inherit or auto, i am not sure if it is a bug or intended, but I am definately not happy that cursor decide which model I should use expecially I am paying for the api price

Steps to Reproduce

during working with codex 5.3 it calls composer 1.5 subagent which I didn’t add explicitly

Expected Behavior

agent is only allowed to call model that I agree to use, otherwise it can call arbitrary expensive model when it feels it is good for me, no, I am not in auto mode, that is not allowed to happen.

Operating System

Windows 10/11

Version Information

Version 2.4.32

Same issue here. This is really frustrating.

I’m literally being charged for calls I never asked for

This is a serious billing issue and misleading. You should revert the requests where Composer 1.5 was used for sub-agents instead of the selected main agent model.

I’m paying for Opus 4.6 Max, yet sub-agents are running on Composer 1.5 and consuming hundreds of requests. That is not acceptable. I am a frequent Max Mode user.

There must be clear transparency and full control over which model sub-agents use, and billing must strictly align with the model I selected.
